Judith (Judie) Johnson is a proud native of Northwest Pasadena and a distinguished graduate of the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD). A 1974 graduate of John Muir High School, she went on to earn her Associate of Arts degree from Pasadena City College and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) before embarking on a career in the U.S. Navy.

Judie served honorably in the United States Navy for eight years, both stateside and overseas in Yokosuka, Japan. During her service, she received specialized training in personnel administration and became a certified counselor in alcohol, drug abuse, and eating disorders.


Following her military service, Judie built a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years in leadership roles across the nonprofit, faith-based, and affordable housing sectors. Her professional expertise includes grant management—both as a grant maker and recipient—as well as extensive experience in property management, specializing in affordable housing for seniors and low-income families.


Judie is deeply passionate about culturally relevant and sustainable community development, strategic planning, and community engagement. A woman of strong faith, she is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and remains dedicated to advancing service, equity, and empowerment in her community.
