Ursula Hyman

Treasurer

Ursula Hyman retired as a partner from the international law firm of Latham & Watkins. At Latham, she was the chair of the Municipal and Tax-exempt Finance Group. Ms. Hyman served as the president of the Eaton Canyon Recovery Alliance (the “ECRA”), which was formed in 1993 in response to the Eaton Canyon fire. ECRA was one of the first successful collaborations among federal, state, and local governments, along with a community non-profit organization formed specifically to facilitate a rapid response to wildfire disasters.

Ms. Hyman’s experience in disaster recovery has translated into several leadership roles after the 2025 Eaton Fire.  She serves as the corporate secretary and a board member of the Altadena Recovery and Rebuild Corporation, established by Supervisor Barger. She serves as the corporate treasurer and a director on the Leadership Council of the Eaton Fire Collaborative. She established and manages the Navigator Program for the Assistance League of Pasadena, through which seniors affected by the fire receive personalized help through the recovery process.

Through the Assistance League and the Pasadena Senior Center, she is coordinating a series of seminars for survivors on rebuilding issues. Lastly, she serves as a founding director of the Altadena Land Initiatives, a not-for-profit organization actively engaged in trying to find ways to close the financial “gap” faced by many fire survivors.
